The Madison Square Boys and Girls Club in the Sugar Hill, Harlem area recently received the SYNLawn treatment with a brand-new rooftop field designed with our New York artificial grass. The members of the Boys and Girls Club can have the time of their lives on the multipurpose field playing softball, football, and soccer, as well as enjoying outdoor recreation and general activities. The field was designed and installed with SYNRye 244, green, blue, yellow, and white play turf, and UltraBase. Being that there are many children that visit the Boys and Girls Club, the first thing we had to consider was safety. Under this installation, we included our UltraBase padding system that is placed over the concrete foundation of the rooftop to help increase shock absorption and soften impacts. SYNRye 244 is IPEMA certified, which means that it has been laboratory-tested to meet commercial safety standards. At SYNLawn New York, safety truly is our highest priority, which is why we provide non-slip surfaces that aid in preventing common injuries and abrasions, as well as cushion falls up to ten feet.
Additionally, SYNRye 244 is Class A fire-rated, the highest rating a surface material can receive for fire safety. This means that it has passed eight burn and melt tests to help ensure that it can prevent the spread of fires. SYNRye 244 will simply melt and blacken rather than fuel potential fires, protecting your property and preventing potentially life-threatening injuries.
Exclusive Technologies and Benefits of SYNRYE 244
During the summer or warmer parts of the year, it can be difficult to remain comfortable on play surfaces. Fortunately, this installation includes our exclusive HeatBlock technology. HeatBlock is scientifically tested and able to help reduce surface temperatures by reflecting infrared light and preventing heat absorption. HeatBlock surfaces remain much cooler than other artificial turfs on the market.
Next, SYNRye 244 includes our plant-based backing system, EnviroLoc+™. EnviroLoc+ secures turf fibers to help prevent shedding and increase the longevity of the rooftop field. EnviroLoc+ is made from plant-based materials and replaces harmful petroleum polyols in our manufacturing. In addition, EnviroLoc+ provides the field with optimal drainage to assist in ensuring that it is ready for usage almost immediately after encountering heavy rain, snow melt, or other liquids.
